#11-1870s Leather-Covered Trunk w/all Original Exterior & Original
Working Lock w/Key
Original Jenny Lind-type
Solid Brass Key
Original Leather Handles w/Brass Buttons
This little leather-covered trunk was in excellent condition when we found
it, especially considering it's well over a hundred years old. We patched a
couple small places in the leather, otherwise it's all original. Note the
Jenny Lind type brass buttons and metal bands. A pattern is stamped into the
leather on the top. We managed to save the original working lock. A solid brass key is furnished.
The leather handles are original. We thoroughly cleaned and resealed the
inside then relined it. As always, the bottom has been thoroughly cleaned
and resealed. This is a small trunk but would hold a lot of jewelry or other
things worthy of it. Imagine it on a dresser or chest of drawers. We found
it in Asheboro, NC on a local trunk-hunting trip. Things don't stay here long so give us a call
at 336-765-3998 or email us at
TreasuredChests@oldtrunks.com and we'll have it
professionally packed and on its way to your home within hours.
