Around 120 years ago this trunk was beautifully and very sturdily crafted. It probably spent many years traveling, as evidenced by numerous shipping label tacks we removed from it. After many hours in our shop it has now been completely restored to its original beauty. The solid brass lock still works and an authentic antique key is provided. The lock escutcheon is dated Mar 69 and Apr 77. The latches on the front are cast and very sturdy. The background wood is beautifully knotted pine; the just as beautiful grooved staves are hardwood. We've left just enough bruises to indicate the age of this majestic piece. The inside of the trunk is just as elegant as the outside and is very spacious. The only things not original are the new leather handles and new lining. We found this beauty practically in our own backyard, in the historic Ardmore neighborhood of Winston Salem, NC. If you want a nice, interesting piece of history that will serve as practical storage and will enhance just about any decor then a (toll-free) call on 1-877-653-8786 or an email to TreasuredChests@oldtrunks.com will make it yours.
