(Sold) Trunk #3-Beautiful Dutch Chest by Winter w/Maker’s Label, Original Working Lock & Key (Sold)
We never know what we’re going to find. Imagine our delight when we removed the unoriginal cloth lining from this little chest and found the maker’s label. Turns out this maker was also a saddle maker back in the mid-1800s in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This chest is adorable with its beautifully grained pine, nicely grooved hardwood staves, Jenny Lind-type brass buttons, rosettes; we could go on and on. In our restoration we left just enough bruises to show the age of this wonderful piece. With just a little work we had the original lock working again. An antique key is provided. This is a small chest but still offers enough lockable storage space to assume the life of a jewelry box or the like. It would look wonderful on a bedroom dresser, chest of drawers or even on a shelf in the foyer. We found it in the Village of Clemmons, NC or one of our local trunk hunts. If you like it as well as we do then call us now at 336-765-3998 or send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org before it gets snatched up.
