I have a trunk that has been handed down in my family, will you restore it? A. Yes, but...If you are within driving distance of Winston-Salem, NC and you can bring it by for us to look at then we'll be glad to give you a free estimate to restore it. If you have to ship the trunk to us it may not be cost-effective. There would be the cost of shipping the trunk to us, our charges in order to stay in business, and packing/shipping/ insurance for the trip back to you. PLEASE NOTE: Due to our being swamped with restoration requests we're having to limit the types of trunks we can restore. We can no longer restore wardrobe trunks, doll trunks or Louis Vuitton trunks. Also, please see the note above. Q. But I'm willing to pay for all of this, will you restore it in that case? A. Yes, we just want to be honest up front about these things. Q. What do you need from me then to get an estimate without bringing the trunk to you? A. Good photos, all four sides, top, bottom and inside. Please point out anything we might not see in the photos. What color paper to reline with. Any special instructions (such as "leave Grandma's initials on the left end".) Q. How long will I have to wait to get my trunk back? A. That depends on our backlog. We have not caught up in the last several years. Right now we're averaging about 5-6 months turnaround on restorations. We will give you a time estimate along with your costs estimate. Once we start on a trunk it will take us about two weeks to finish it. Q. I would like to try my hand at restoring a trunk but can't find one locally. Do you have trunks to sell in the rough or as-is? A. We have one of the world's largest collections for you to choose from. Just let us know what style of trunk you want and we'll give you a quote on what's available. Q. I need a special style trunk to be used as a movie prop. Can you help? A. We will do our best.
