Setup (To Quote Messages)
Setting Up Microsoft Outlook Express
1. Open up Outlook Express.
2. If you're not already there
then go to your Inbox.
3. Click on the Tools menu
at the top of the screen.
4. Click the Options
selection on the drop down menu that appears.
5. Click the Send tab of
the folder that appears.
6. By the word "Sending"
there will be a list of six items with check boxes. The fifth box down will say
"Include message in reply". Click inside the box for that
selection and a check mark will appear.
8. Click Apply at the
bottom of the Options dialogue box.
9. Click OK in the same
area. The Options dialogue box will close. Congratulations, you've finished the
setup.
To test:
1. Click on a message in your Inbox.
2. Click Reply just
above this. A box opens up for you to type in your reply. Notice that the email
address (of the person you would be sending this reply to) appears automatically
in the To field. Also, the Subject line has been copied and preceded
with something like Re:
If you don't want to quote the
original message then just click New Mail
instead of Reply.
Setting
Up Microsoft Outlook
1. Open up
Outlook.
2. Click
the Inbox.
3. Click
the Tools menu at the top of the page.
4. Click Options
that appears on the drop down menu.
5. On the Preferences
tab, click the E-mail Options button beside the word "E-mail".
6. The
E-mail Options dialogue box opens up. Halfway down the page are the words
"On replies and forwards". Go to the next line that says
"When replying to a message". Click on the down arrow to open up the
drop down menu.
7. Click either
"Include and indent original message text" or
"Include original message text".
8. Click
OK at the bottom right corner of the E-mail Options dialogue box. The box will
close. Click OK on the options dialogue box. The box will close. You've
finished the setup.
To test: Repeat the same test
procedure given for the Microsoft Outlook Express setup.
Setting
Up Netscape Communicator Mailbox
1. Open up
Communicator.
2. Click
on the Mailbox icon in the lower right corner of the Netscape screen. The
Mailbox will open up.
3. If
you're not already there then go to your Inbox.
4. Click
the Edit menu at the top left of the screen.
5. Click Preferences
on the drop down menu that appears.
6. Look
for the Mail & Groups folder. If it has a minus sign in the box
beside it then proceed. If there is a plus sign in the box then click on the box
and the folder will open up.
7. Click Messages
in the Mail & Groups folder. The Messages dialogue box will open up.
8. Under
"Messages properties" click the box beside "Automatically
quote original message when replying".
9. Click
OK at the bottom of the bottom of the Preferences dialogue box. The box
will close. You've finished the setup.
To test: Repeat the same test
procedure given for the Microsoft Outlook Express setup.
