A Very Dirty Hump Back

A Very Dirty Antique Humpback Trunk; before

(Before) A very dirty humpback

This trunk had been in a storage shed for many years and was very dirty & rusty but was more sound that it looked. Fortunately none of the embossed pattern in the tin was rusted through. The rust was not very deep and removed easily. Someone had removed the lock but was thoughtful enough to place it inside the trunk. The locks of most trunks that have been entered forcibly are nearly ruined by a crowbar or other tool.

(After) Humpback restored to its original beauty

After several hours of work we were able to make it look much better. This beauty is now enjoying its new life as a file cabinet. A close-up of the restored pattern appears below.
