Stagecoach trunks were lightweight but sturdy. They were also functional, yet often beautiful pieces of traveling history. This one is an extremely rare find since it has its original Western Squares covering. The covering is paper and has been thoroughly cleaned and preserved. The lock still works and comes with a brass key. We’ve only replaced the leather handles with new double-stitched genuine leather ones and the straps with brass buckles. Note the beautiful brass buttons and nicely grained hardwood staves. In keeping with the rustic nature of stagecoach trunk, we kept the original lining inside. Rest assured the inside has been thoroughly cleaned and resealed. As always, the bottom has been completely restored too. This is a medium size trunk but has at least a couple cubic feet of lockable storage space inside. It can be used as a table and will fit in just about anywhere, foot of a bed, foyer, bay window or wherever you choose. We found it in Rochester, VT on one of our trunk-hunting trips. It dates back to the 1870s. Don’t let this one slip away, just click here to order from our Etsy shop and we’ll have it professionally packed and on its way to your home within hours.
